Resolutions, Genies and I Write

As the year comes to an end and different celebrations are held all over the world, there is one day that will be special for almost everyone. And that is the first day of a brand new year, a brand new decade.

43 Things is a fun site worth visiting, and at this time of the year, 43 Things offers you ideas and inspiration related to New Years' resolutions. You can easily add to 43 Things by signing up and sharing your resolutions for the coming new year as well.

While you begin thinking about 2011, why not email yourself?

FutureMe  allows you to send an email to future self; you can set the date and decide whether you want your email to be public or private.  If you should be making any resolutions now, you can email yourself and then at a later point in time, receive your email and check whether you are keeping your New Year's resolutions - or not.

As you are writing your resolutions, how about finding out whether you are a female or male writer? The Gender Genie is easy to use - all you need to do is type or paste a text in the box, indicate whether it is fiction or non-fiction and submit. The results will show up immediately.

Another writing site which is fun to visit is I Write Like. Again, all that you need to do is to cut and paste or type in a text in the box, click on analyze and presto! the results are instant.
This is what I Write Like said about a passage that I wrote:

I write like
Cory Doctorow
I Write Like by Mémoires, journal software. Analyze your writing!
Try it out and have fun with your friends and family. Remember to share your results in your blog or social network as well!

I tend to use a lot of internet tools and cartoons which are freely available online. Two sites which offer a different world of cartoons are toonpool and marktoon. Often, cartoonists have a job offline and share their cartoon creations with us online. This is the case of Mark du Toit, whose hobby is creating cartoons. In his scrapbook, you can read how he became a cartoonist and perhaps find inspiration for your own drawings.

What will your New Year's resolutions be?
